Our sales partner SamplerZone makes a variety of SCSI SD Card solutions for your SCSI sampler.
Their SCSI2SD drives that come in a variety of form factors and models; external cases, internal trays designed to fit your sampler/host along with custom SCSI cables, and a innovative Plug-In model that simply plugs into your sampler/hosts SCSI port. SCSI2SD uses an SD cards, and many sampler/hosts do not require external power.
The wonderful aspect of SCSI2SD is the ability to access multiple SCSI ID's; so it's really many drives in one unit! This enables much more efficient use of the SD card - more efficient, faster access.
As was said before, most samplers/hosts provide power via the SCSI cable/port. But if yours doesn't, SCSI2SD can be powered via the back of the unit (external), or a 4-pin BERG in the back (internal), or the USB port (Plug-In Drive).
Compatibility
SamplerZone's SCSI2SD Drives work with EVERY SINGLE SAMPLER we know of (which is all of them).
All Ensoniq, Akai, Akai MPC, Roland, Emu, Ensoniq, Kurzweil, Korg, Peavey, Synclavier, Fairlight, Waveframe samplers.
We don't provide a list because we haven't found a sampler it DOESN'T work on.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Most SCSI2SD Drives are currently out-of-stock or awfully close to it. SCSI2SD boards have been affected severely by the worldwide chip shortage. If SamplerZone says your desired model is out-of-stock, contact SamplerZone and ask to be put on the Priority List for that model. SamplerZone gets SCSI2SD boards on a one-by-one basis and maintains lists for first-come-first-serve purchasing.
ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE: SamplerZone recommends SCSI2SD primarily for use with computer-compliant hosts (e.g. Samplers: Akai S5000, Emu 4 EOS 4.7, others... DAW: Roland VS-2480, Akai DPS24, others...). This is mostly for v6.0, or v5.5 if v6.0 is too hard to get. SamplerZone sells v5.2 for a very cheap price, so if you are on a budget, you might want one of those just for the price.
All SCSI2SD Drives come with a standard 1-year warranty, your choice of how the drive is set-up, case color, how the included SD card is formatted, and your choice of SCSI connecting cable.
There are three different models of SCSI2SD Drives. A comparison chart of their differences is below; otherwise all their capability and features are the same.
| Card Type | Max ID's | Power Connector | Form Factor | Other | |
| v5.2 | SD | 7 | Floppy-type | Standard | |
| v6.0 | SD | 7 | Floppy-type | Standard | Can use as USB card reader |
| v5.5 | SD | 4 | USB | Proprietary, plugs into SCSI port of host |
